1950-d Proof nickel
 

A friend of mine has a 1950-d nickel proof. Any idea of the value. I have googled but can't seem to find proof coins.

from the PCGS web site. It could be anything up to $7500 depending on condition. A typical 1950 proof nickel might be worth $50

are you sure it's proof? That site doesn't list a 1950-D as proof. The 1950 proof has no mintmark.

BU would be less. He might get $20 for it on ebay if he had a good closeup picture.
